Last week, the DEMCAPS consortium gathered for our annual meeting on 2-3 September to share progress, exchange ideas, and discuss the next steps in our common goal of improving dementia care. Partners from Alzheimer Europe, Masaryk University, the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, Maastricht University, Karolinska Institutet, and external collaborators presented their latest work and discussed future directions for the project.
Key discussions focused on how health-economic models can better reflect outcomes that matter to people living with dementia, their families, healthcare professionals, and policymakers. Partners also explored how psychosocial and economic evidence, together with longitudinal data, can improve our understanding of care pathways, outcomes, and costs over time.
The meeting once again demonstrated the benefit of bringing together expertise from different disciplines, institutions, and countries. Through this collaboration, DEMCAPS aims to generate evidence that can help inform future dementia care and policy decisions.
